Our Montessori trained adults help children build a solid foundation towards their academic journey. Bloom Montessori HOC offers different programme for different age group • Toddler Programme • Montessori Programme

Toddler Programme:

This programme caters to children of age group of 2 years to 2.5 years. This programme is focused on preparing children for Montessori. Initially, one- on- one attention is given to the children and eventually train the children to become independent. Vocabulary enrichment and independence is the main focus and once children are ready around 2.5 years of age, they are absorbed in Montessori programme.

Montessori Programme:

The Montessori pre-primary program is designed for children from age of two through six years. Our environment includes few main aspects which are explained below. Our Montessori programme focuses on development of the whole child, physically, sensorially, emotionally, intellectually; as an individual and as a member of a community. It is child-centered, offers creative choices and enables each child to work according to readiness and ability. Development is not determined by a child’s age, but rather by understanding. The learning environment allows children to evaluate their own standards rather than base them on the expectations of others, respect and accept members of the community, and be discerning.

EPL: The child is attracted to things that give him independence and control of his own life. An important part of which is making sure his school environment isn’t too different from his home environment. At our Montessori, special materials enable him to learn to tie his shoes, fasten his buttons, and use many such devices and materials that he sees at his own home but is restricted or forbidden to work with. As the materials are scaled to his size, the child enjoys sweeping, dusting, washing, polishing and gardening. Lessons on courtesy and greeting permit him to deal with everyday situations. The basis of the child’s interest is that these activities are real and exist in his everyday life. It provides the very foundation on which the child approaches all other work and also understands the dignity of labor.

Sensorial: All the activities that the children experience are mainly due to their sharp senses. The focus here is to enhance these senses through various means. Visual, tactile, olfactory, kinesthetic etc are some of the senses that the child completely relies upon in order to remember complex concepts of our day to day life. These tools of life afford the child the ability to form his frame of reference with which he can classify those inputs to his senses and allow greater opportunity to be successful in all other fields.

Arithmetic: The materials for mathematics introduce the concept of quantity first and then the symbols for quantity the numbers 1 through 10. The child needs to understand what exactly the number two means before he memorizes the name. The quantity is introduced by a series of rods, which the child can count and compare. He matches sets of symbol cards with the rods. Using a variety of beads and symbol cards the child becomes familiar with the numbers as a decimal system including concrete experiences with the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. These exercises not only teach the child to calculate, but they provide a deep understanding of how numbers function.

Language: According to Dr. Montessori, the evolution of language begins with the infant’s unique capacity to absorb intact fragments of language, which will serve as a basis for his development. This continues through an orderly, unconscious process of assimilation and abstraction. This child first discovers that sounds have meaning, and then he isolates the parts of speech. Finally, he grasps the use of sentences. The constant assimilation of language results in a sudden expansion of vocabulary. The child learns the oral language naturally either from his home environment or his surroundings. The work of the teacher is to expose him to the equivalent forms of written language which he learns through the same general pattern of development. The Montessori child begins reading when he is ready and proceeds at his own pace. His experiences in practical life and sensorial education serve as a preparation for this.

Science: We use simple science experiences to introduce and illustrate the various phenomena of nature. For example , the need of oxygen with the use of candle. Other scientific experiments form the basis for the study of Biology, Botany, Geography and Geology as well as Physics and Chemistry. The reason why we introduce science at such a young age is to give the child knowledge of things and to have respect for the life around him.

Music: The children love the opportunity to express themselves musically. They have the opportunity to sing and dance with our wonderful music teachers.

Special Events: We like to celebrate birthdays, holidays and special events with the children including friendship day, a winter holiday program, summer program, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation and more

Extracurricular: Exploring is essential for children to understand their surroundings. Children enjoy a variety of activities. In addition to our Montessori program, we offer music, shloka, creative dance, yoga, pottery classes, paintings.

DayCare Centre:
